I was really intrigued by this dinner but couldn’t attend. Can anyone fill me in on the food/beer pairings? I’m quite curious.

Hi Kristy – No Seafood will be harmed or killed in the preparation of this event. Everything, including the beer, will be sourced from local producers/farms within 50 miles of the Armsby Abbey. The dinner is more than 50% sold out thus if you would like to reserve your seat(s) you will need to so in the near future. The website has been updated with the most current information this morning. Cheers!

I called to make reservations for this dinner a couple weeks ago and was told over the phone that seafood would be served, making this not a vegetarian dinner. Seafood is no longer mentioned above; has it been eliminated? I think that would make real vegetarians quite happy.

What a fantastic idea! Tried Pretty Things at the Boston Beer Fest and had all great things to say! Plus being a vegetarian I feel like I never get go to beer dinners since they are usually meat-focused. Thanks Armsby and Pretty Things! By the way, how much are the tickets?

I would love to go to this because I was hoping that you guys would do a vegetarian dinner, but times are tough and 130 bucks for my fiance and it would be stretching our budget. I hope it turns out great and maybe if you have another one in the future I will be able to go to that one.

I will absolutely try to get in on this. I just need to see who is interested and around. Gardner Ale recently had a vegetarian beer dinner and it was a blast, and the entire time all I could think about was how cool it would be if the Abbey did one too. Ignore the negative nasty comments. Some people aren’t happy unless they are unhappy, and they like to inflict their whining on others.

Side note: Stopped in Friday night for dinner. Stuffed squash blossoms=wow.

I am sorry to hear that you are getting hurtful messages. I am a vegan, thus cannot participate in your event, but I really appreciate the attempt that Armsby Abbey is making to support my lifestyle choice, nevermind your contributions to local agriculture. Your restaurant is one of my favorite, not only because my wife loves it, but because your staff are always really nice and knowledgeable… even if there are not scores of items on the menu for me.

Congrats again on hosting a veggie night… I hope it is a smashing success!!

Unfortunately Lee Anne, yes the response has been very black & white; utter excitement (like you) or downright rude. We are all very excited for this dinner as we felt with the last 3 beer dinners, we kind of left Veggies out in the cold. There is still space left and the menu should be drawn up the first week of August. With the Summer rains a lot of our farms have been a bit behind with their growing calender so we don’t want to commit to a menu unless we know we can do it. Mother Nature is finicky though, so things could change last minute regardless. Please give us a call if you would like to reserve a seat for you and your friends. Cheers!

Are people serioulsy being mean about this? I’m a vegetarian and my first thought wasn’t anything put pure excitement. I hope there are still spots!
